1.3 Information you share about others

When you create a "Circle" (a group dining plan) and add a friend by their phone number and name, that information is stored so the Circle can function — the person you add will be notified and can join. By adding someone to a Circle, you confirm you have their permission to share their phone number with us for this purpose.

To operate core features — Discover, Circle, Food Court ordering, Cinema bookings, Malls & Markets
To send you notifications about bookings, Circle activity, deals, and order status
To calculate distances and personalise recommendations
To respond to support requests
To maintain the security and integrity of the App

We do not sell your personal information to third parties, and we do not use your data for third-party advertising.

3. Who We Share Information With

Other Circle members — your name and participation are visible to members of any Circle you join
Restaurants — when you make a reservation, place an order, or participate in a Circle deal negotiation, relevant details (party size, order items, contact info as needed) are shared with that specific restaurant to fulfil your request
Service providers — we use Google Firebase (Authentication, Firestore database, Cloud services) to operate the App. Firebase processes data on our behalf under Google's own data processing terms
Legal requirements — we may disclose information if required by law, court order, or to protect the rights and safety of Fooodli, our users, or the public

4. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored on Google Firebase infrastructure. We apply security measures including:

PIN storage as a one-way SHA-256 hash — never stored or transmitted in plain text
Firestore security rules restricting each user's data to that user, and Circle data to Circle members only
Encrypted data transmission (HTTPS/TLS)

No method of storage or transmission is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

5. Location Data — Additional Detail

Fooodli calculates distances using your device's GPS and a straight-line (Haversine) distance formula — we do not use Google Maps or any third-party mapping/routing service, and location data is never requested without your explicit action. You can disable location access at any time through your device settings, though some distance-related features will then show less precise information.

6. Account Deletion

You can request deletion of your Fooodli account and associated data at any time.

How to request deletion

In-app: Open the App → Me (Profile) tab → Account settings → Delete my account
Web form: Visit fooodli.com/delete-account.html and submit your registered phone number
Email: Send a request from any email to [INSERT SUPPORT EMAIL] with your registered phone number and the subject line "Account Deletion Request"

What gets deleted

Your profile (name, phone number, city, PIN hash, taste preferences)
Your favourites and saved locations
Your order and booking history
Your notifications

What may be retained

Records of Circles you participated in may be retained in an anonymised or redacted form if other Circle members' active data depends on the group record (e.g., a shared bill history) — your personal identifiers are removed from these records
Information we are legally required to retain (e.g., financial or transaction records, if applicable, for statutory retention periods under Indian law)

We process deletion requests within 30 days. You will receive a confirmation once your account has been deleted.

7. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal data, and to object to certain processing. Indian users have rights under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act). To exercise any of these rights, contact us at [INSERT SUPPORT EMAIL].
